EV

Errol’s Vocabulary (EV) EV – They are a list of words I found over torn slippers, empty pockets, scratch papers, dandruff flakes, broken nose and white mice in a box of chocolate, beside a badminton racket while running a malaria control program in Mindanao. They are not just “head-matter” descriptions but a means to survive like denial, bitterness, sour-graping, loving, acceptance, letting-go.

EV1.

Employment – a condition where one trades freedom and human rights for 180 pesos a day, and where a president makes it an accomplishment
to name a number of people who have traded their freedom and human rights. (1-15-07)

Boss - a person who is slaved with figures and matters of consequences and consequently believes that he/she has the authority over the others. They are conceited slaves but lonely individuals (1-15-07)

Thesis- an academic paper that starts with “ to change the world attitude” but mostly ends up with “just to graduate objective” which people appreciates (12-30-2006).

Impact- a favorite word for a thesis title used by desperate graduating students.

Cellphone- an electronic gadget that makes human being poorer, and lonelier. The tendril of the capitalists to make us lame and dependents. (1-16-07)

Expectation- it is when your waiting somebody (like a matter of life, work, love and death) to text or call when suddenly a foreign number appeared and read "grabeh nakakaadik talaga ang sana maulit muli kaya download na ng ringtone, text SNMAULIT and send to 238, my chance ka pang manalo ng 10,000 pesos, 15/download" (1-16-07

Baboy- a sadness that is more than sad enough- diwata(1-17-06)

Election Time – the big cheese with slithering worms around, but who cares with worms cause it’s a cheese after all. Election time is feeding season between mice and cats, umpired by the mass media, and the churches (2-7-2007)
